Week 1 reflections

Greetings everyone! In the inaugural session of TELL, I acquired a comprehensive introduction to the concept, which entails the strategic integration of technology to augment language learning. Furthermore, I was enlightened about the subsets of TELL, namely CALL (Computer-Assisted Language Learning) and MALL (Mobile-Assisted Language Learning). My instructor also elaborated on corpus linguistics and highlighted the potential of incorporating corpora such as BNC and COCA into TELL. Week 2 reflections

"Our TELL class's second week began with Penzu, a static website and writing tool. This private online diary allows us to store data, which can only be shared with authorized individuals or by sharing the page link. We learned to log in, use features like image insertion and adding new pages, and share content via e۔ mail or link. Next, our tutor introduced phraseteacher.com, a vocabulary learning website with a listening feature for pronunciation practice. The following class covered desktop and browser versions of software, highlighting the offline capabilities of desktop versions and the internet requirements of browser versions. We were then introduced to screen capture tools: TechSmith Jing for podcasting and screencasting, offering 5-minute free video recordings, and Screencastomatic (ScreenPal), providing 15 minutes of free screen recording.
